Psst... The Gays Are After You, Pass It On
I have to admit that I have sometimes taken a perverse glee in watching Republican congressfolk do stupid things. But now, as approval for the Republicans is circling the drain in tighter and faster circles, and as intellecually honest conservatives are trying to see who can jump farthest from the ship, to watch the GOP try this last ditch move again is just so pathetic and miserable that I find myself feeling genuine pity for them.
The whole thing is embarassing, but perhaps my favorite player in the lurid affair is Utah's Orrin Hatch. He supports this purported crusade to save "the sanctity of marriage." For more information on what a good wholesome marriage means to Big O, click here.
Ridiculous, pathetic, or both? You be the judge.

The reason this site doesn't cover the LA congressman accepting bribes is because 2GL should be renamed 1GL, because with 2 good legs they should be able to stand up straight. Instead, they only have 1 good leg (the right one, which causes them to fall to the left).
Where is the outrage? A dirty politician is brought to light but 2GL is silent. Perhaps the contributing members of 1GL are busy trying to make the news (see: Dan Rather), rather than report it.
ram, i'd be more impressed with your lack of support for this preposterous amendment if you didn't help your party use this same technique to win ohio in 2004. still, i'm glad you'll come out against it now. better than nothing.
as far as jefferson - yeah, looks like he's a crook. indict him, try him, and lock him up. you won't find me defending him.
What about the New Orleans mayoral race. Way to go H. Dean and democratic party! Can't win the Presidency, can't win Congress. Now their support can't even win the race for Mayor in city they believe Bush neglected. Hey Howard Dean, I heard Mrs. Martin's 3rd grade class is having an election for hall monitor...see if you can win that one. The democratic party is pathetic.
Sincerely,
Tony Snow
actually, our governor and many other prominent republicans were against the ban. i said back then i was agaisnt it and voted against it.
also, if voter turnout increased b/c of anti-gay intensity, why didn't it also increase for the oppoisite reasons from democrtas? you sound like the conspiracy theorists that complain that bush had a higher voter turnout than kerry's people and therefore that is unfair. duh.........
you've asked me b/f to name 5 things i like about bush. do the same for kerry please. ram

I agree, indict that crooked son of a bitch and lock him up. Difference between the parties is the GOP promotes their corrupt bunch to speaker and other high ranking posts. We get rid of them.
Sorry 3GL, you put yours in the White House.
ram - the article that you and fellow Republican Pary employee t'od gleefully forwarded me after ohio went red in '04 stated that the GOP put the anti-gay amendment on the ballot specifically in order to increase voter turnout from the right wing of your party/employer. you may be personally against the anti-gay movement, but your willingness to exploit anti-gay sentiment for political ends (or work as an employee for an organization doing that) surely puts some of the weight from that cross on your shoulders, yeah? i mean, you reaped the political benefit, now accept the moral burden.
1) I deny I sent you such an email let alone did it "gleefully." Please forward the email to a_dy_a_le@yahoo.com along with my attendant comments so I can verify what you are saying.
2) I'm a lawyer. I can work for any client that calls. I defend murderers. Surely that is worse than being a homophobe, which I'm not. You defend ruthless corporatiosn and Mr. Chan.
3) Why is it that "rocking the vote" is good when your guy wins and bad when s/he loses?
4) You still haven't explained to me why the anti-gay amendment attracted more republicans than dems. If the dems were so anti that amendment they should've came out to vote it down, no? Or is the platitude that dems were anti-anti-gay amendment just that, platitudinal lip service?
5) If I were you, I wouldn't blame Kerry's loss on that amendment. Kerry should look right in the mirror.
6) Moral burden? Nice try, buddy!

I've been watching this torpid site for several weeks. Yawn. Grizzly hybrids (low on gas). Ho hum. First lady. Yada yada. Big plane. Big deal. It takes SEX to make this site sizzle. Especially same sex sex.
It continuously amazes me that the idea of who might be in love and who might wanna marry -- among adult humans (as I must qualify, before some kook jumps on the tired old pedophilia-and-bestiality bandwagon) -- gets so many people all twisted in the guy wires.
Seriously, folks, it's a non-issue that's taking WAY too much time and energy in this country. I think the only reason it gets the attention it does is a calculated ploy by the Ruling Regime to divert attention from its own incompetence on issues of substance. AND I include Washingtonian Dems as well as GOPs in the Ruling Regime. GOPs are more to blame only because Bush is soooo imcompetent and incongruous -- enough to shame any Democratic hack into irrelevance.
There, my amicus is a-mounted. Carry on, counselors.
your amicus is mounted? no wonder you're on this gay kick piano. ram
Did Piano not enjoy my A380 post? Damn shame, maybe a post on the unabomber would suffice.
Thanks, ram. Although my alliteration was feeble, it beats your illiteration.
Wonderful and informative web site. I used information from that site its great. » » »
