After a news conference in the Capitol ended Thursday (3/9) and lawmakers and aides were shuffling out the door, a young woman asked Burns, “How ya doing today, Senator?”

Without batting an eye the Senator replied, “I’m ready to go get knee-walking drunk!”

Meanwhile, it's election year for Conrad. As the recipient of the most funds from Jack Abramoff's clients ($150K), Burns remains under a cloud. But none of the stockyard stuff that hit the Abramoff fan has yet officially splattered Conrad's boots. Back home, though, a prominent legislator has stepped forward to challenge Burns in the GOP primary. Although this shakes things up a bit, the state GOP says it's standing solidly behind Conrad. Springtime in the Rockies, and the fun has begun!
