TWO GOOD LEGS

A primary problem

A leading Democrat in Montana's US Senate campaign, State Auditor John Morrison, got a big splash today, although it's definitely not the kind he wanted. It's a complicated story, solidly reported by two top-notch journalists. I won't oversimplify with lurid words like "affair" and "fraud," though both appear in the headline.

There's quite a bit of buzz surrounding the development, with questions like who? why? why now? what next? It seems clear that the story didn't come from the GOP or from Morrison's leading Dem rival, Senate President Jon Tester. I think it's just hard-headed reporting. Tester, however, can be forgiven the grin.
