Ripping off the D's for the SOTU

There was a lot of bullcrap and duplicity in the State of the Union address tonight. It was funny to watch the Democrats sort of stutter standing and soft clapping, not knowing if it is really appropriate to sit quiet when the President hollers "freedom is good!" "If you don't cheer for me right now, you hate freedom!" heh.

All I can add to all the commentary out there is this: A friend of mine works for Nancy Pelosi. She noted that Bush's new "Commitment to Competitiveness" theme sounded eerily familiar. Yes, the Democrats just unveiled that in September!

My favorite part of the SOTU was when Bush said, "Last year, Congress did not pass 'Social Security reform.'" That's the only time the Dems leapt to their feet, pumping their fists in the air. Woo-hoo! 'Course, then the GOPers had to protest . For a moment, it sounded almost like the British Parliament. And wouldn't that be a nice turn for the SOTU? We need catcalls and jeering ... and even the right wing "hear, hear"s. THAT would be worth watching.

Good point, I thought the same thing. I suppose that is a good thing. W. has just gotten boring, he says the same thing again and again. T
