Bush is less popular than Nixon was on his darkest day, TOD. You're going to have to get used to that. Clinton, when the GOP tried to impeach him, was TWICE as popular as Bush is today. Clinton never reached the lows that Bush has been riding for months.
Yes, polls wander. But Bush's low is a hell of a low. Lower than Nixon, man. Effing Nixon.
But, I have absolutely no doubt that if you'd been around in the days of Watergate, you would have been apologizing for the great Crook as well. You're a party man, and I respect your tenacity in that regard, to an extent. Not so much when you're left sputtering about how just because the American people now have a lesser opinion of Bush than they ever had of Nixon doesn't mean that people think Bush is worse than Nixon. Only that they like him less, right? Or something.
In any event, history is recording this, as you have so aptly observed. And that history will record that for most of 2005 the majority of Americans disapproving of Bush and his elective war in Iraq.
Yes, that may change. In fact, I hope that it does change. Because for it to change would mean that something miraculous would have to happen in Iraq, which I think we all would like to see.
Ha, RAM, you are one perceptive SOB. I thought the same thing, but maybe TOD knows something we don't. After all, he was a presidential greeter. All my love.
