OSaddam Bin Hussein Did It!
So last night Bush, faced with an American public skeptical of the shifting rationale for the war in Iraq and the lack of a coherent strategy there, again shouted 9-11!! 9-11!!
Thus, once again, proving what he thinks of us.
I just wish he would come right out and say it, like this Republican politician.

I keep hearing this lack of a plan or strategy thing from you lefties. I have yet to hear what you'd do different (besides cut and run) and have seen no Democrat plan. If you are all so smart and superior, could you please inform we conservatives of your all seeing plan? Tell me how you plan against a guy walking in with a bomb strapped to his chest and blowing up innocents or blowing up our troops with IED's along a road. I'd LOVE to hear it. From what I know, we are working every day to defeat the insurgents (insert terrorist) and rebuild the government and infrastructure. This will take time for we regular people to accomplish. Maybe our mistake was to send regular people to do the job. We should have sent you smart assed liberals instead. No doubt, you'd have gotten this difficult job done by now.
As for your 9-11! 9-11! comment- who do you think we are fighting over there now? For the most part, it isn't Iraqis. It isn't remnants of Saddam's Baathists. It is terrorists linked to al Quaida. They are coming there to kill Americans and to stop the establishment of Democracy. I know- you don't want Iraq to be the magnet for terrorists that it is. Would you rather they came here to kill us? I doubt it. Are you ready to give the countries of Afghanistan and Iraq back to the terrorists?
I wait with baited breath to hear the well thought out plan that you and the wonderful Nancy Pelosi will enlighten us with. If you really support the troops, you'll share this plan of your superior intellect with us right away.
Lefty, if you don't see the connection, YOU are the true idiot and we are better off not having your kind in power. We live in a brave new world. It's called preemption, Southpaw, Hussein was enemy no. 1 for the US. He wanted to assinate Bush's father. He avoided UN monitoring. He gassed his own people. We were next. He was bound to float one of those briefcase bombs our way as soon as he got one. It was only a matter of time. Good thing we had a man in office, not some weak pansy socialite flip-flopper or that she devil, lesbian Hillary!--Klug
How could I comment after those two amazing responses. I am just going to push publish and not even try.
Rock - do I have a strategy for getting us out of Iraq? Frankly, no. I did have one three years ago, though. It's called DON'T FUCKING GO IN!!
I understand that you believe my lack of an "all-seeing" plan for fixing the terrible mistakes of the Bush Administration means that I can't also criticize the Bush Administration's lack of a plan. Fair enough. I keep hoping that the folks in charge, the folks with the intelligence, will give us something new to give us hope for success over there. It's frightening that the best their shills can do is accuse everyone else of not having a plan, either. With that said, I have yet to hear a cogent argument for "cutting and running," so I guess we'll have to continue to pay for Bush's horrible mistake with the lives of our young men.
And Rock, if you still think Iraq had anything to do with 9-11, I'm going to stop responding to your comments. Seriously. I like engaging you, but if you're that far gone, there's no point.
If, on the other hand, you are arguing that the purpose of invading Iraq was to topply Hussein, then use our young men as terrorist-bait in an effort to turn Iraq into a battleground against radical Muslims (which it most surely was not when we invaded), I think that is both morally questionable and in direct conflict with what the President told us about why we were invading.
As for you, Klug... keep posting. You're embarassing the other conservatives.
The one big success of the Bush Administration since bull-headedly and ill-advisedly invading Iraq is this: they have managed to confuse EVERYONE, including THEMSELVES, about what the HELL they're doing. Thus, they have intelligent people like Rocky and TOD parroting their pablum, as well as attacking folks who DON'T HAVE A PLAN for resolving this imbroglio. (Other folks, like Klug, just seem to be channeling Rush after a flush.)
But ask the Administration what THEIR plan is, and you get nada but "stay the course" or one of Cheney's shrugs: "I dunno ... 12 years?" And still, Bush tries to link it all to 9/11 and the "terrusts" who maybe coulda possibly considered sometime developing a strategy to gain the capability to pose the outside chance of mounting a "newkyewler" threat.
Okay, Bush has one other success: he has galvanized the terrorist faction. While our own armed forces face a crisis in recruitment, the insurgent recruiters have 'em lined up around the block. I dunno ... 12 years?
Rock, TOteeteeD, please cite one example, accepted by the mainstream (i.e. non-fantasy Republicans unlike yourselves and reasonable dems), where Iraq had a direct connection with Al-qaeda and 9-11. Sunnis hate Shiites yo, they fundamentally have different interests. Please, quit making shit up and study, at the very least, the history of this region and religion. Please.
Where did I say Iraq and 9/11 are directly connected? I thought we had this debate more than a year ago. Is your memory fading? Too many drugs?
