I'm not outraged by it, to tell you the truth. However, I think it's probably not the best tool for winning "hearts and minds." Perhaps when Cheney mocked Kerry for arguing that we should be culturally sensitive in this war, it was a glimpse into a bigger problem with the Administration's attitude.
Imagine if occupying tanks were rolling down your street with "The Koran" emblazoned across the business end. Even if they had just rescued you from an oppressive regime, it would stick in your craw. Or maybe not.
It was stupid to decorate the tank with the "New Testament." It was stupider to display it on the DOD web site. Stupidity is common. What is growing more uncommon by the day is the spiritual Corruption in the Name of Christ that infects so much of the political discourse these days. And I wouldn't call that stupid so much as criminal. Johnny Piano
