TWO GOOD LEGS

Tick, Tick, Tick...

The clock is ticking for old Tom DeLay. The question is no longer whether he'll step down (be forced out), but when.

So, drop your guess in the comments section, and give Tom's Wheel of Cronyism a spin. Guess a date, and the circumstances surrounding his departure. Date wins, reason's the tiebreaker.

I say he "voluntarily" steps down on April 28, after it is disclosed that he stole money from an Indian tribe to pay his family to convince lobbyists to bankroll his trip to view the pope lying intestate.

Winner gets eternal enlightenment and ten hours of free legal services from 3GL.

This is a tough one, a lot like filling in the brackets for the NCAA office pool.

My initial, knee-jerk guess for Delay's departure was "All Fool's Day" but I checked my calendar and 4/1 came and went. Then I instantly thought, August 8, the day another notable slimeball resigned in disgrace, but we're barely in April and Delay is hanging on his last threads.

Definitely not April 13th, Thomas Jefferson's birthday, because any similarties between the two begins and ends at the firstname.

Scrolling other "celebrity" birthdays for the month, I see some good ones: 4/2 "Horshack" from Welcome Back Cotter; 4/3 Alec Baldwin "You ask me if I have a god complex...I am God." (fitting); 4/3 Marlon Brando; 4/6 Butch Cassidy; spifire Shannon Doherty on 4/12; oooooo, Nikita Kruzchev on 4/17; 4/19 Dudley Moore (too revered); I won't say his name on 4/20 (hint: 3d Reich); Tony Danza on 4/21 (loved him in Who's the Boss?); Vlad Lenin on 4/22 (he met a dismal fate); how about William Randolph Hearst on 4/29?

Nah, none of those sound right. But I have to pick a day b/c Abe's top prize is so tempting.

OK, I have it.
I think I'll simply go with May 1-- "May Day" b/c this ship's going down, baby!

Not sure about the legal advice, in Texas justice is settled by 10 steps and a draw. I am thinking on the date the kind of pop is acquitted on all charges of playing with peckers.

What has Delay been charged with? Does anyone have proof he broke any laws? I don't think so. Wishful thinking on your part?

Legal advice from 3GL? Someone wants that? Just kidding!

While some of Mr. Delay's actions might seem less than honorable (even to me) I don't think you can show that he broke any laws. In any case, the Democrats don't seem interested in getting anything going in the ethics committee since they have a few of their own ( McDermott?) whom they desire to protect. Also note that the top five congressmen taking trips were ALL DEMOCRATS.

If we are taking numbers for a pool to guess when Delay will be forced out or step down- put me down for 2010.
