Haunting
"I am an innocent man, convicted of a crime I did not commit."

I guess he was right.

Maybe our President will take action. Or maybe he'll keep laughing about the condemned.

C'mon Abe,
This is just another example of blaming the world's problems on GWB, which is why the Left is often like the little boy who cried wolf (or that con that cried for her life) and lacks credibility when constantly complaining about Bush.
First, what "action" should our president take? He is powerless as president. What action did your hero Bill Clinton take (when he was campaigning for prez he rushed back to arkansa to make sure ricky ray rector was a dead man at the hands of the state) or did Sen. Kerry propose to take on this issue? None, b/c there is no action for a president to take.
Second, love the article you cited, which read in part, "George Bush executed the first woman in Texas since the 1860’s, executed the mentally ill, the mentally retarded, the rehabilitated, and statistically 9 innocent people."
Oh, So now we're to the point where W actually executed these people himself? Further, it is written as if W pulled off "his" executions for no reason at all. Never mind the fact that the death penatly is the will of the people in TX, it has been ruled constitutional time and again, every defendant was given a trial and appellate review and so on. The article is pretty short sighted and meant as just another transparent attempt to rail against bush for the sake of railing against him.
Having said that, I disagree with the death penalty, but let's keep it on a philosophical, as opposed to the same old tired political level. That is the only way things will change.

Nothing in that article shows he was innocent. An "expert" paid by the guys attorney claiming the fire was similar to another fire means next to nothing. I have no prior knowledge of this case so I have no idea what evidence was used to convict him.
Separately and theoretically, this case speaks to the problem I have with plea bargaining. A guilty guy can get a lesser sentence if he admits to committing the crime. An innocent person who maintains their innocence is eligible for the harshest punishment.
LargeBill, it also speaks to the ever so evident truism about our current legal system that, like it or not, justice is reserved for the rich.
If you have followed this case as many concerned Texans like myself have, you come to the conclusion that this guy was murdered. Why don't you guys quit arguing to support your party's idiots and see the true tragedy that has occurred. Sick!
I reserve judgement until Mr. Bill O'Reilly comments on the issue.
I agree that everything wrong in this world is blamed on Bush. It's getting really old. That's all I have to say.
Oh, yeah, Abe. I voiced my opinion of my support for W to some left wing protestors this weekend. Thought you would love that.

The Right Side is the Right Side
To be clear, you silly kids, I'm not blaming Bush for this execution. I'm not even saying this guy was definitively proven innocent. All I'm saying is that executing people is a solemn and serious affair (which I happen to disagree with), and Bush's cavalier and mocking attitude about it is disturbing to me. If you find it appropriate and statesmanlike to laugh at those condemned to death then we simply have a difference of opinion.
ARM, Bush, did mock Karla Faye Tucker's pleas for her life. That article is only one of many which quotes a Talk magazine interview with conservative pundit Tucker Carlson. Carlson is the person who was there when Bush was making fun of the dead woman, so he has first hand knowledge.
