The Leadership Crisis is Now

A must read from Olde Media about Bush's intentional deception of the American people. It's not just about wars anymore. He thinks that if he scares you enough, you'll buy just about anything.

While on a practical level I may be warming up to personal retirement accounts, it is shameless to misstate the facts for political gain, especially when such facts come straight from the President. But why should we expect more from our leader?

PRAs are not the panacea that the Administration makes them out to be. They've been tried in Germany, Australia, and Chile with limited success. Integrating PRAs with our existing social security system, combined with other important reforms, such as making social security need-based, makes more sense here.

Although CC may argue that this is just another example of Bush's effective negotiating style, it's patently disingenuous.
