How the GOP "Rocks the Vote" Part III
Finally, let's tie together Parts I and II.
Remember Chuck McGee from Part I? Well check this out:
The Executive Director of the New Hampshire GOP, Chuck McGee, resigned -- not because he hired Raymond but because he lied about it to the local paper. McGee, of course, had no idea how things had gone so terribly awry. And before long he had resurfaced as the state head of Citizens for a Sound Economy, C. Boyden Gray's anti-tax outfit that the old Bushie now runs with Dick Armey.
Citizens for a Sound Economy? Hmmm, now where have I heard that name? Oh yeah, they're behind the dirty tricks to get Nader on the ballot!
"We'll definitely be spreading the word that we'd like to see Nader on the ballot," said Cameron Sholty, the Wisconsin state director for Citizens for a Sound Economy, a conservative antitax group. "We'll do phone trees and friends-of-friends, and those Nader events will be a great way to drive our membership to get out to sign petitions for Nader."
Alright, so this organization hired a GOP leader who had resigned amid a storm of illegal activity, and this organization is loudly organizing and encouraging Republicans to fake support for a candidate whose policies they detest.
In the words of Governor Jeb Bush:
"You guys are everywhere."
In the words of his brother,
"Folks, you've got to get to know this organization ... They have been doing a great job all over the country educating people."
